First Dojo

Dojo means training hall in Japanese; the First Dojo is run by Jamie Edmunds a highly talented karate instructor operating his club under the GoJu Ryu style of karate.

He felt that his passion for the sport was not being reflected in his current marketing strategy and was having little effect in attracting new members.

The Idea

Develop a toolkit of marketing elements including website, new advertising boards, membership cards and flyers.

Use impactive images with quick fire text and bold colours to get key messages across.

Promote excellence, fitness, health and martial arts.

to move away from the traditional martial arts imagery of an instructor karate chopping some poor student.

The Result

Promotional material that is inline with the instructors marketing direction.

Postive feedback from students who have directly acted on the promotional material they received and joined the club.

A very unthreatening approach to encourage people of all backgrounds and skill level to try martial arts.

More students taking on the ‘karate taster course’.

Jamie had this to say “I only wish I had met the Marble team earlier, I messed about with my previous designer for too long. I genuinely felt Marble Media wanted my business to be successful and they came up with some fantastic ideas to promote my club”.
